Ou Pastorie
This is a project which is in my local community of Pniel. It is a small town situated between Stellenbosch and Franshoek. The Ou Pastorie was the place where the priest of the church would live in but becuase a new, more modern Pastorie was built for the priest and his family to live in, the old one was left vacant. The community then decided to make the old Pastorie a museum which would be open to the public. The Ou Pastorie is more than a 100 years old and has been renovated and rebuilt over the years and it was important to the comunnity that the structure had to remain the same and that it had to look like the original structure that was first built. This meant changing the windows and doors so that the appearence of the structure looked the same as when it was first built.
The picture below, from left to right, consists of the existing elevations, the proposal of changes and a existing wall fabric plan which shows the type of bricks which gives on an example of what year a specific part of the structure came from.
The pictures below is the Sketch Up model which I had to build from scratch because there was no model built yet.
